3 A voice rings out: "Clear in the
desert a road for the Lord! Level in the wilderness a highway for our God!
4
Let every valley be raised, every hill and mount made low. Let the rugged
ground become level and the ridges become a plain.
5
The presence of the Lord shall appear,
and all flesh as one,
shall
behold- For
the Lord himself has spoken"
|
3
Listen! I hear the voice of someone shouting, "Make a highway for the Lord
through the wilderness. Make a straight , smooth road through the
desert for our God 4
Fill the valleys and level the hills. Straighten out the curves and smooth
off the rough spots. 5
Then the glory of the Lord will be revealed,
and all people will see
it together. The Lord has spoken!"

3
Isaiah had spoken of John when he said
"He is a voice shouting in
the wilderness; 'prepare a pathway for the Lord's coming! Make a straight road for him!"
|
13 at the presence of the
LORD, for He is coming, for He is
coming to rule the earth; He will rule the world justly and its
people in faithfulness. |
13
before the LORD! For the LORD is
coming! He is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the
world with righteousness and all the nations with his truth. |
4 Isaiah had spoken of
John when he said, "He is a voice shouting in the wilderness:
'Prepare a pathway for the Lord's coming! Make a straight road for him!
5 Fill in the valleys, and level the mountains and hills! Straighten the
curves, and smooth out the rough places! 6
And then all the people will see the
salvation sent from God."

16
After his Baptism, as Jesus came out of the water, the heavens were opened
and He saw the Spirit of God descending
like a dove and settling on him.
17
And a voice from heaven said, " This is my beloved Son, and I am fully
pleased with him." |
