Psalms 68:19
(Tanakh) |
Psalm 68:18 |
Ephesians 4:8-10
(NLT) |
19
You went
up to the heights, having taken captives, having received tribute of
men, even of those who
rebel against the LORD God's abiding there. |
18 When you ascended to the heights, you
led a crowd of captives. You received gifts from the people,
even from
those who rebelled against you. Now the Lord God will live among us here |
8 That is why the
scriptures say "When he ascended to the heights, he led a crowd of
captives and gave gifts to his people."
9 Notice that it says "he ascended." This means that
Christ first came down to the lowly world in which we live.10 The
same one who came down is the one who ascended higher than all the heavens, so that his rule might fill the entire universe. |

1:9-11
(NLT) |
6
God ascends midst acclamation; the Lord to the blast of the horn. 7
Sing, O sing to God; O sing to our king; for God is king over all of the
earth; sing a hymn
|
5
God has ascended with a mighty shout. The Lord has ascended with Trumpets
blaring. 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our
king, sing praises! 7 For God is the King over all the
earth. Praise him with a Psalm ! |
9 It
was not long after he said this that he was taken up into the sky
while
they were watching, and he disappeared into a cloud. 10 As they
were straining their eyes to see him, two white robed men suddenly stood
there among them. 11 They said "Men of Galilee, why are you
standing here staring at the sky?
Jesus has been taken away from you
into heaven. And someday, just as you saw him go, he will return!" |

(NLT) |
|
|
19
When the lord had finished talking with them,
he was taken up into
heaven and sat down in the place of honor at God's right hand. 20
And the disciples went everywhere and preached, and the Lord worked with
them, confirming what they said by many miraculous signs. |

Note:
Ephesians 4:8
"Gave gifts"
Ref: John
14:27 (NLT)
"I am leaving you with a gift - peace of mind and
heart. And the peace I give isn't like the peace the world gives. So
don't be troubled or afraid." |
50
Then Jesus led them to Bethany, and lifting his hands to heaven, he
blessed them 51 While he was blessing them,
he left them and was
taken up to heaven 52 They worshiped him and then returned to
Jerusalem filled with great joy. 53 And they spent all of their
time in the Temple praising God. |
